Kangaroo
The pure silver coin (999.9‰) "Kangaroo" is issued annually by the Perth Mint in a unique one-ounce (31.10g) format. It has a diameter of 40.60mm by 2.80mm thick and a nominal value of $1. The main motif of the coin is dedicated to the Kangaroo, Australia's emblematic animal. It was first struck in 1993 and its design, a Red Kangaroo, was created by sculptor Stuart Devlin. The main motif changes with each new annual issue. Since its creation, the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II appeared on the obverse of the coin until 2022 when King Charles III took over.
