Maple Leaf

The gold maple leaf was issued by the prestigious Royal Canadian Mint in 1979. The idea was to counter the growing popularity of the Krugerrand on the international market. Besides, they have one thing in common, they have in common the same designer.

From 1979 to 1982, the Maple Leaf was struck in .999 pure gold purity. Subsequently the Royal Canadian Mint decided to push the gold purity to .9999. She is a must for serious investors and collectors. Due to its .9999 purity gold composition, it is more sensitive to conservation than the Krugerrand or .916.7 gold coins. Protection is recommended. Metal 24 has a protective shell for this purpose.
