Krugerrand

The Krugerrand was the first one ounce (31.10g) pure gold coin to be minted in 1967. The obverse of the coin features the portrait of the esteemed President of South Africa Paul Kruger and on his reverse features a springbok gazelle. The coin takes its name from Kruger and Rand, which is the national currency of the country. It is highly prized by investors due to its fungibility and strong market demand. It keeps very well over time thanks to its gold and copper alloy. It is undoubtedly the number 1 choice as an investment piece.
