The 2025 Chinese Panda (30g) is a 999‰ or 24k carat pure gold coin. Minted by the “China National Gold Corporation” or “CNGC” from 1982 to 2015 in the 1 troy ounce (31.10g) format inherited from the Anglo-Saxon metric system. From 2016, the 1 ounce format will increase to 30 grams. The gold Panda quickly gained great worldwide popularity due to its limited production. With each new annual issue, the central motif of the "Panda" changes. When it was created in 1982, there was no nominal value on the coin. It was in 1983 that a nominal value of "100 yuan" appeared on the coins and this until 2000. The following year "in 2001", the value increased to "500 yuan". The Panda coin is a legal tender in China, it has become over time a leading investment coin like the American Eagle or the South African Krugerrand.
