Eagle

 

The American Eagle in silver has been issued annually since 1986 by the US Mint. Struck in the unique format of one ounce, it is composed of pure silver at 999‰ Its "Walking Liberty" motif by sculptor Adolph A. Weinman has adorned each coin since its origins. It has a face value of one American dollar and a diameter of 40.60mm. It is sold in tubes of 20 ounces or in a Monsterbox of 500 ounces.

 

The obverse: shows the "Walking Liberty" design by sculptor Adolph A. Weinman of the 1916 half dollar. Liberty walks in profile, draped in the folds of the American flag. Her right arm is outstretched and she carries branches of laurel and oak in her left.

 

The reverse: stands the heraldic eagle of the United States with a shield in front of it, 6 arrows and an olive branch in its talons.

 

Since 2021, the coins have featured a new reverse showing an eagle carrying an oak branch landing on the ground.
